Commissioner Daniel Joins MCFMLD Board of Directors
GRAND JUNCTION, CO – The Mesa County Board of Commissioners appointed Commissioner Bobbie Daniel to serve on the Mesa County Federal Mineral Lease District (MCFMLD) Board of Directors. Commissioner Daniel will replace Commissioner Rowland on the board.
The County Commissioners also re-appointed Home Loan State Bank President, Craig Springer, to serve a three-year term.
Commissioner Daniel and Springer will join fellow MCFMLD board member and local business leader Quint Shear, of Shear, Inc.
The MCFMLD oversees the distribution of Federal Mineral Leasing funds to local public entities by providing financial support to serve the infrastructure, construction, and public service needs of our community.
The MCFMLD Board of Directors are appointed by the Mesa County Commissioners. Springer filled the position of representative at large for the MCFMLD.
The MCFMLD Board also approved its 2023 budget that included $125,000 contribution to the Permanent Fund and a fall 2023 grant cycle with $350,000 available for grant funding to eligible entities in Mesa County. A copy of the budget can be found on the district’s website.
MCFMLD Board meetings are open to the public and public comments are welcome. The next meeting is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on April 19, 2023. Meetings are held at the Home Loan Building, located at 205 N. 4th Street in Grand Junction.
