David Ludlam appointed to serve a second term as chair of the MCFMLD
The Mesa County Board of Commissioners appointed the Executive Director of the West Slope Colorado Oil & Gas Association, David Ludlam, to serve a second term as chair of the Mesa County Federal Mineral Lease District (MCFMLD). The MCFMLD oversees the distribution of Federal Mineral Leasing funds to local public entities by providing financial support to serve the infrastructure, construction, and public service needs of our community. Ludlam joins MCFMLD board members Mesa County Commissioner John Justman and local business leader Craig Springer of Home Loan State Bank.
Ludlam noted, “Our industry is proud to contribute so much to the regional economy, including royalties from natural gas production. But, we have impacts too. This is a tremendous opportunity for public service that both highlights contributions from our industry but also works to directly offset our impacts.”
During Ludlam’s first term on the MCFMLD board, the District provided $4.7 million in funds for projects that range from technology upgrades for rural schools to construction of new fire stations. MCFMLD has funded improvement projects across the community, including Palisade, Fruita, Grand Junction, DeBeque, Collbran, Colorado Mesa University and numerous other municipalities and special districts.
Ludlam concluded, “I’m pleased to serve the Mesa County Commissioner and their constituents and am thankful for their confidence moving forward.”
The MCFMLD Spring Grant Cycle is currently open and receiving applications up until March 8th.
