Mesa County Federal Mineral Lease District Approves 2020 Budget; Final Payment to Mesa County Jail Expansion Project and $100,000 Investment in Permanent Fund
GRAND JUNCTION, CO – The Mesa County Federal Mineral Lease District (MCFMLD) Board of Directors voted and approved the proposed 2020 budget on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.
The MCFMLD received their distribution from the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) in the amount of $925,023. This is an increase over last year’s distributed amount of $737,322.
The board
approved the final payment to the Mesa County Jail Expansion Project of
$324,000 and a $100,000 investment into the permanent fund. The remaining funds
will be distributed through the two 2020 grant cycles, the first one opening on
February 1, 2020.
The estimated amount for grant cycles is $200,000 for the spring cycle, and
$200,000 for the fall.
The 2020 spring
grant cycle will open on February 1, 2020. The next public board meeting will
take place on November 20, 2019 at Home Loan State Bank Community Room at 2pm.
